守望者眼里的麦田

经过一个星期多的努力，每天读三章，今天，大年三十，我在上学的车上终于读完老师安排的书：The Catcher in the Rye。网上查了一下，原来这本书早已翻译成中文，名字叫做《麦田里的守望者》。

这本书由美国作家J.D. Salinger所写，在1951年出版。刚出版的时候，此书一度成为禁书。很多学校和图书馆都禁止购入这本书。在1960年，有一个美国老师要求学生阅读此书，遭到解雇。作者J.D. Salinger现在是一个隐居者，拒绝和公众接触。在这本书出版第一版本的时候，背面有作者的照片。后来J.D. Salinger禁止出版商这么做。他要求出版商不可以在封面和背面加任何多余的东西，除了作者和标题。（就连简介也不可以）此书的第一版本在Ebay网的最高价格是4999美元。

注意：以下内容会透露书中情节。

本书讲述一个叫做Holden的青少年，他被学校开除以后，在纽约乱逛了两天两夜。见到了形形式式的人，还不断地回想往事。他对这个世界，尤其是大人，表现了极大的不满和叛逆。他认为成人都是虚伪的，他尝试用自己叛逆的方法逃离虚伪的世界，寻找纯洁和真理。本书描写出了青少年不满成年世界充满虚伪欺瞒的心声。Holden正处青春期，这个年龄的人是极为叛逆的。然而，这个年龄的人是最容易也是最经常说真话的。等一个人长大以后，他会慢慢的把真话给隐藏起来，露出虚伪的笑容。只有青春期的少年，他们意识到了事实，然而他们并不像大人们那么狡猾。于是，他们会说真话，虽然有时候他们的话激进了点。例如说，中国的青春期少年可能会说：“中共做了很多坏事，他们腐败无能、专制……中共党员应该全部死光。”虽然此话偏激，可是他们说出了真话，中共的确腐败，中共的确做了很多坏事，中共的确是专制。可是，大人们是永远不会说这些话的。大人们只会说：“枪打出头鸟啊，小子。”

青少年们的话是最偏激的，也往往是最真实的，也是最容易被忽略和隐瞒的。

那么，青少年讨厌全世界吗？我看不是的。青少年只不过是愤恨大人的虚伪，想寻找真理和纯洁。所以，他们依然爱这个世界的。否则他们也不会努力去寻找真理和纯洁了。当我读到书中这几段的时候，我的大脑好像被振动了一下，写的实在太好了：

• • “Anyway, I keep picturing all these little kids playing some game in this big field of rye and all. Thousands of little kids, and nobody’s around — nobody big, I mean — except me. And I’m standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff — I mean if they’re running and they don’t look where they’re going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them. That’s all I’d do all day. I’d just be the catcher in the rye and all. I know it’s crazy, but that’s the only thing I’d really like to be. I know it’s crazy.“
  • I was the only one left in the tomb then. I sort of liked it, in a way. It was so nice and peaceful. Then, all of a sudden, you’d never guess what I saw on the wall. Another “Fuck you.” It was written with a red crayon or something, right under the glass part of the wall, under the stones.
    That’s the whole trouble. You can’t ever find a place that’s nice and peaceful, because there isn’t any. You may think there is, but once you get there, when you’re not looking, somebody’ll sneak up and write “Fuck you” right under your nose. Try it sometime. I think, even, if I ever die, and they stick me in a cemetery, and I have a tombstone and all, it’ll say “Holden Caulfield” on it, and then what year I was born and what year I died, and then right under that it’ll say “Fuck you.” I’m positive, in fact.
  • Then the carrousel started, and I watched her go around and around. There were only about five or six other kids on the ride, and the song the carrousel was playing was “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes.” It was playing it very jazzy and funny. All the kids kept trying to grab for the gold ring, and so was old Phoebe, and I was sort of afraid she’d fall off the goddam horse, but I didn’t say anything or do anything. The thing with kids is, if they want to grab the gold ring, you have to let them do it, and not say anything. If they fall off they fall off, but it’s bad if you say anything to them.
  • Then what she did — it damn near killed me — she reached in my coat pocket and took out my red hunting hat and put it on my head.
  • I felt so damn happy all of a sudden, the way old Phoebe kept going around and around. I was damn near bawling, I felt so damn happy, if you want to know the truth. I don’t know why. It was just that she looked so damn nice, the way she kept going around and around, in her blue coat and all. God, I wish you could’ve been there.

这只是我的初步感受，明天开始，老师会认真讲此书。到时候我再写一篇详细分析。
